Seymour: an introduction
I visited the Laemmle this afternoon with my dear mother as she wanted to see this documentary which was done by Ethan Hawke. It was brilliant. Ethan invited us to join him in exploring the life and mind of Seymour Bernstein, an incredibly accomplished and talented pianist. His connection with music is amazing to see and the conversations that they have together are so very personal yet everyone can relate to them. The music is beautiful and several times it brought tears to my eyes. I do have a weak spot for piano and classical music doubly so.
I would recommend this film to anyone who loves music deeply as well as to anyone that enjoys delving into the wisdom of those with many years to speak of. I think Ethan did a fantastic job.
This film is playing at select theaters. The Laemmle Pasadena will only have the film til April 9th for one showing a day (4:20 pm) so catch it before it is gone!
